Oh, that got your attention! You can't move these days without getting hit in the face with the 26in vs 29in wheel debate. Here's why you should probably, maybe give wagon wheels a go...
1. Science - There's no hiding from it, a bigger tire will have a bigger footprint and will therefore produce more grip. That increased size also means they're inherently more stable and better able to iron out the chatter roots and stutter trails that we're used to.
2. History - If history has taught us one thing, it’s that the bike industry will always push new technology forward. Look at the current crop of 29ers and the progress they've made already and you'll see just how committed bike companies and the designers they employ really are.
3. Keep an open mind - There was a time when full suspension, riser bars and clawless pedals were questioned and frowned upon. It might well be that 29ers don't suit you but what's the harm in trying one? Worst comes to the worst, you'll appreciate your beloved 26ers all the more!
4. Money Talks - Wagon wheelers are no longer the realms of obscure independent frame fabricators lurking in back gardens, they're now the preserve of the massive corporate behemoths. All the big brands now produce a 29er of some description - they're here to stay.
